Privacy Policy
Effective date: 23 Feb 2026
Overview
Localize ("we", "us", "our") is a currency conversion app designed for travelers. This Privacy Policy explains what data we process, why we process it, and the controls available to you.
Data We Process
- Approximate location (optional): used to auto-detect your local currency.
- App settings: base currency, preferred currencies, and app preferences saved on-device.
- Purchase state: subscription and entitlement status provided by Apple.
- Diagnostics (optional): crash and performance signals to improve reliability.
Data We Do Not Sell
We do not sell your personal data and do not use your data for third-party advertising.
How We Use Data
- Provide currency conversion and local-currency auto-setting features.
- Sync premium access and restore purchases via Apple systems.
- Protect the service against abuse, fraud, and technical failures.
- Maintain and improve product quality.
Location Permissions
Location access is optional. If denied, you can still use Localize by selecting currencies manually. You can update location permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
Exchange Rate Requests
To calculate conversions, the app requests exchange rate data from remote infrastructure. Requests may include technical metadata (such as IP address, timestamp, and request diagnostics) for security, rate limiting, and reliability.
Retention
Most preferences remain on-device until you delete the app. Limited server-side logs are retained only as long as needed for security and operational purposes.
Children
Localize is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Your Rights
Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us to submit a request.
